Topic Maps and TEI
The Topic Map paradigm and TEI markup complement each other nicely.
TEI can be used for markup that is structural, unambiguous and fixed.
Topic Maps can be layered on top of this in a flexible, ambiguous and fluent way. They can also provide different views on the texts.
Together, they provide the foundation for a markup application that allows distributed, collaborative markup of a fixed text base.
